Hearing feedback or an echo during a live video interview is typically caused by not using a headset with a microphone.
If possible, all participants should switch to a headset with a microphone. This will improve the audio quality and eliminate any feedback.
If a headset is unavailable, use earphones or lower the speaker volume and keep the microphone and speakers away from each other. As a last resort, participants can mute themselves when not speaking.
One way to determine which participant is causing the echo is to mute each participant one by one, starting with yourself, until you find where the echo is coming from.
To mute yourself, select the Microphone button at the bottom of the interview room. If the echo stops, it means it is coming from your microphone and speakers.
To mute another participant, select the Participants button at the bottom of the interview room and then toggle their microphone icon to off. This only mutes them from your audio, so other participants can still hear that person.
Continue until the source of the echo has been located and follow the advice above to eliminate it.
