What Is a Live Video Interview?

Modified on Wed, 10 Jul at 12:49 PM

A live video interview is an interview where you meet the interviewer(s) in a virtual room with the use of your computer’s webcam and a headset for audio - just like Skype, Zoom, and FaceTime.

Before a live video interview, you’ll receive an invitation email containing the interview details and an access link. In the email, you’ll also be reminded of the supported web browsers you can use, as well as a link to test your internet speed, microphone, and camera.

On the day of the interview, we recommend clicking the access link 10 minutes before the interview start time to ensure that you can connect successfully and be ready before the interviewer(s) join the virtual room.

Some interview elements will vary per organization:

  • Interview length
  • Number of interviewers
  • Number of questions

After completing your live interview, the hiring team will document and organize their ratings and notes and compare all candidates in order to make a decision on how to proceed with all applications.
