My Recording Has Issues (No Audio, No Video)

If you find that your recording has clipped or missing audio or video, do not click Save and Next. First, identify whether or not you have the option to Re-Record, as shown in the image below.



If you cannot re-record, reach out to the Hiringplatform.com support team to inform them of the technical issue and request a redo for this question. If a redo is granted, we highly recommend you follow the troubleshooting steps below before you redo your answer.

If you can re-record, follow the troubleshooting steps below to reset your browser and equipment before trying to re-record. As long as you don’t click Save and Next, you can close the browser page and return to it using the invitation link you received by email. Your additional attempts to re-record will still be available when you return to the page.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Switch to a supported browser or restart your supported browser.
    • Supported computer browsers (click a browser link to go to its download page) 
    • Supported mobile browsers:
      • iPhone: Safari
      • Android: Chrome
  • Close all other applications utilizing your camera and microphone, such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc., and applications using large internet bandwidth, such as YouTube.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Use your personal device without a VPN, as work devices often have stringent security settings that may impede camera and microphone access.
  • Test your internet speed, microphone, and camera with this simple tech check tool.
  • Reaccess your interview by clicking the link in your invitation email or following the steps you used to start it initially. When you are ready to answer the question again, click Re-Record.
